I compared this to the new Nikon M-223 2-8x32, Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40, and Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42. May be a good target scope but not so much for hunting deer. Too many adjustments and not clear compared to a trijicon accupoint when looking at different ranges. Great Scope

very nice scope especially for the money. Great zoom and great vision even at low light conditions. I was able to pick this scope up on sale and I will definitely be picking up more. I would recommend one to everyone.

Great scope

I bought this scope to replace a store brand scope for my son's .223 bolt gun. The glass is clear, the turrents track well, and you can't beat Vortex's lifetime, no questions asked, warranty. It is the perfect fit for his first rifle.

Vortex Scope

Let me tell you about the vortex scopes are well built and function very highly for the money. Vortex can compete with all those high prices scopes plus the guys from opticsplanet like Christopher really spent the time explaining what i need for my rifles very excellent customer service thanks.

Tack Driver

Great scope. Awesome quality, awesome price. I mounted this scope on my Ruger Ar-556. It is light weight, compact enough for my needs, which is deer, coyote and hog hunting. I would consider this a good mix between a hunting scope and target scope.

Highly recommend the Vortex Viper 4 x 12 x 40 PA

This is the first Vortex rifle scope I have used, I have been using their binoculars 10 x 42 Viper for three years now and decided I would try one of their scopes. I am very pleased with their Viper 4 x 12 P A. The clarity at dawn and sunset is exceptional. One of the other advantages I like is the adjustable Paralex that is on the side of the scope instead of the end. One thing I wish the scope makers would do is tell us the size rings each scope requires. I guessed medium on mine and they worked out just fine. I recommend the Vortex Viper Highly.

Straight out of the box you realize the quality of vortex products. This scope is worth every penny. The quality of the scope, the scopes sharpness is second to none. Can't wait to install this scope on my Tikka T3 Lite 270 win.

You won't be disappointed

This is my third Vortex Viper scope and although I love the other two,I see some nice improvements in this one.Of course you get the great Vortex glass but the reticle is razor sharp and easy to shoot.If you hand load,give them your load info and they tell you the yardage at each stop on the vertical plane.Virtually as good as a turret

Great Scope for the Price

I've had two of these scopes now. Both have had very clear glass for the price. The power knob moves very smooth, better than any other scope I have seen. The field of vision seems slightly narrow, but I can overlook that with the benefits of everything else this scope has. I have yet to find a better scope without spending much more money.

Viper 4-12

So far very pleased, have it on a .204 Ruger. Clear, bright, seems like really good glass for the price point. Have not had a chance to check the bullet drop reticle yet but hope to shoot out to 500 yards plus and see how that does. Eye relief at 12x is not great and will take some getting used to. Predator and prairie dog hunting is what this rig is set up for. Now that Deer season is done, something to work on over the winter months.
