Bb's Review of Vortex RT45 Offset Mount for Razor Red Dot

Sadly I have used multiple Vortex products (mostly optics) and never had any issues. This mount is decently made BUT the mounting screw is well under my expectations. The tiny screw barely gets about 3 threads before tightening which is just inadequate. For comparison, most iron sights that I use on the same gun have solid size screws in order to secure them and keep the weapon zeroed. This one is a tiny screw, maybe equivalent to M2 metric which will not secure this mount well enough to prevent zero shift if the weapon gets bumped (like in a 3-gun barrel dumping). Also, the screw head is a tiny 5/64ths Allen key which is not adequate for torqueing the mount. Just look at any legitimate flip up iron sights and compare the difference with this mount. They could have used a larger Allen key or a large Torx head screw to make sure this mount is secured to the picatinny.
Recommendations:
1) Use larger screws that can handle more torque, such as the Dueck Defense Irons (for example)
2) Use longer screws to ensure at least several threads catch on before the mount is tightened, in order to ensure secure mounting. However, you have to leave the other end of the screw open so you can use longer screws. Just look at any other irons or sling attachment mounts (Dueck Defense, Magpul BUIS, etc} and you shoul get the idea.
I am seriously considering returning this product. I just can't trust the cheap mounting design.
