Most Helpful Positive Review Good product for Vortex Razor but not Vortex Venom
Did not fit my Vortex Venom but the item felt solid quality. It even came with the allen wrench for install. It had a nice low profile design. I ended up getting the same item but designed for the Venom red dot sight.
Most Helpful Negative Review The only 45 degree mount available for a Vortex red dot is mostly rubbish...unless...
I like to shoot 3 gun matches and I run a vortex venom on a 45 degree mount under my scope. This mount worked ok for maybe a couple seasons. Though I did have to retighten it very carefully before every match, seriously careful. Even with blue loc-tite it would eventually back out. It finally gave u...

Absolutely love it! Pretty simple to install on my AR. If you ever decide to make a purchase for an offset mount, I highly recommend this brand.

very disappointed

by Bb, from CO, United States Written on January 26, 2021
Sadly I have used multiple Vortex products (mostly optics) and never had any issues. This mount is decently made BUT the mounting screw is well under my expectations. The tiny screw barely gets about 3 threads before tightening which is just inadequate. For comparison, most iron sights that I use on the same gun have solid size screws in order to secure them and keep the weapon zeroed. This one is a tiny screw, maybe equivalent to M2 metric which will not secure this mount well enough to prevent zero shift if the weapon gets bumped (like in a 3-gun barrel dumping). Also, the screw head is a tiny 5/64ths Allen key which is not adequate for torqueing the mount. Just look at any legitimate flip up iron sights and compare the difference with this mount. They could have used a larger Allen key or a large Torx head screw to make sure this mount is secured to the picatinny.
Recommendations:
1) Use larger screws that can handle more torque, such as the Dueck Defense Irons (for example)
2) Use longer screws to ensure at least several threads catch on before the mount is tightened, in order to ensure secure mounting. However, you have to leave the other end of the screw open so you can use longer screws. Just look at any other irons or sling attachment mounts (Dueck Defense, Magpul BUIS, etc} and you shoul get the idea.
I am seriously considering returning this product. I just can't trust the cheap mounting design.

Great offset mount

by Zach, from FL, United States Written on September 25, 2020
This is a sweet offset mount if you're a fan of the Vortex Razor red dot. I put my offset mount and red dot on my AR-15 and it's great. 5/5 stars. I use a leupold tactical riflescope and this offset mount.

Didn't work

by Drewj7777, from WA, United States Written on February 16, 2019
I got the 45 offset mount on, and mounted the optic. But, no matter how much I moved it around or where I remounted it I could not get the red dot to even get close to zero. I'm not sure if the mount is bent or if there is some other problem I can't figure out but with out shimming the mount it won't work. The gun is a LWRC ic-di and the red dot is a vortex venom.

Over and under built.

There's nothing special about this mount. In my opinion,it weights more than necessary and the design seems poor. While it holds the red dot just fine, I easily (almost) stripped out the bolt hole (the first couple of threads don't look so good anymore). I managed to catch the error in time to save the part but it seemed way too easy to accidentally misalign the threads. Yes, that's probably more my fault than theirs, but the metal seemed pretty soft and the fit of the small retainer part was awkward, which was probably the reason for the misalignment. So, if it were better designed I don't think it would have happened - I'm very familiar with tools and such. The good part is the red dot fit very well.
That said; it does the job and is a nice addition to my firearm, but it seems like more weight than necessary. It red dot also fits pretty good on it. I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying one, but I'd add that they shouldn't expect a well thought out design or a high quality part.
Pros:
  • it works
  • Reasonably priced
  • The red dot fits good
Cons:
  • Mediocre Build Quality
  • Mediocre design
  • mediocer material
Best Used for:
  • Your vortex red dot

Vortex RT45 mount

by hitch, from PA, United States Written on March 20, 2015
This mount is exactly what I wanted for my Vortex Razor sight, I especially like the lower profile of the way the sight mounts without having to use the spacer if I were to use another type 45 degree picatinny mount.
