I have two of the original vortex SPARC and they are still going strong. I decided to purchase the new SOLAR and have not been disappointed. The mounting system is a vast improvement as well as being able to use after market mounts. The ability to use different height mounts is also a plus. If you are on the fence about getting one just do it...with the customer service and quality you will not be disappointed.
