Awesome optic, almost love it - Vortex Spitfire HD Gen II 5x Prism Scope

After running a 1-6 LPVO in conjunction with an offset red dot as my "do it all" setup for my 14.5" AR, I realized I mostly leave my LPVO somewhere between 4-6 power anyway so I purchased the Spitfire Gen II 5X as a potential lightweight replacement for my LPVO. In the terms of weight savings, footprint size, clarity, and reticle, this sight excels and punches above it's weight class. I haven't drop tested it but the housing and even the lightweight mount feel robust. The included tools and covers are unnecessary but a nice touch. My one complaint is that the eye relief and eye box is very unforgiving though I should have expected this of a prism scope. I have played with different mounts and positions and this optic really forces you to move your stock in and run almost a nose to charging handle type cheek weld. But if that doesn't bother you or wouldn't be a factor on the platform you intend to mount the Spitfire, then this is an awesome option for a medium range optic. The glass is extremely clear edge to edge, awesome light transmission, the reticle is very intuitive and gets pretty bright, and all of the buttons and controls feel quality. Overall it's a very solid optic with just take the eye relief and eye box into account.
