Versatile and Affordable
I am a big fan of 3-18x, finding it versatile enough to handle almost any shooting scenario.
To get a 3-18x at this price point with the features and quality Vortex put into it is awesome.
Like a lighter weight and way more affordable version of the Razor Gen 2 (since the viper pst is 3-15x instead of 18x).
EBR-4 is a great reticle that I am used to from my time spent on the Viper PST 2.5-10x32. Illumination offers solid brightness in bright conditions which helps utilize the 3x at close to mid range but can still be appropriately adjusted for low light settings.
A lot of the "wow" for this scope is under the hood so to say. Image quality is very good considering the price point, even at the top end of the magnification range. Turret clicks are positive and repeateable.
Not really a complaint, but a FFP model would be excellent.
Mounted this to a .308 bolt rifle while I finish the upper it is meant for but at this rate I might not want to move it.

Vortex strike eagle 3-18x44
Great product. Very nice glass for a starter long range setup. I have put over 200 rounds down range with my farthest hit at 800 yards so far with a decent grouping. I thoroughly enjoy the ligted sight, however i wish there was a better indicator of shut-off. Only wish it came in a 50mm version over...

Got it working ?
Scope didn't dial in right, scope adjustment was more like 1/2" click adjustment at 100 yards instead 1/4" adjustment as advertised, scope didn't track correctly, this will be a problem adjusting turret for long range shooting
High Quality Optic with an Amazing Price!
Vortex quality & reliability has always kept me a loyal consumer! I typically shoot long range (500-1000 yards). I own both the Strike Eagle 1-8 (AR-15), and Viper PST 5-25 (Bolt Action Precision Rifle). So when Vortex released a high magnification Strike Eagle Series that was both affordable & comparable in power, I just had to jump on that $350 price tag. I tested the 3-18 optic at 1000 yards and was thrilled by the glass quality at that range. Furthermore, it also has the same EBR-4 MOA Reticle as my Viper 5-25 ($1200). Which I love because you can organically range targets just using the reticle/MOA Formula...which I was able to range targets out to 2,250 yards, lol. So awesome.
Pros:
- Affordable Pricetag & High Quality Build/Performance
- EBR-4 Reticle/Ranging Capability
- Small Footprint@13.5 inches long
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Ideal for Long Range Precision, but also versatile & small enough for the AR-15 platform without looking ridiculous.

Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44 Riflescope
Excellent scope for the money, reticle is fine where it needs to be, glass is very clear and bright up to 18x. Because of the quality of this scope I will be buying both a 1-8 Strike Eagle and the new 5-25 Vortex Strike Eagle. This scope is as good or better than other vx3s I own.

Great scope for the price point, I’ve ran it all the way out to 500 yards on my AR with no trouble at all. The glass is on the level of much higher priced scopes. Thank you vortex for making a good scope that a working class person can afford.

Vortex Strike eagle 3-18x44 with EBR-4 MOA
Love this scope. I also have the strike eagle 4-24x50 EBR-4 MOA on my Remington 700 6.5 creedmoor. I purchased this for my Ruger American .223. Love both of them. Super easy to work with. the clicks on the turrets are very precise, easy to hear and feel when adjusting.

Strike Eagle 3x18
I ordered this scope and had it in hand 3 days later, thanks to Optics Planet for the great service. I bought this scope for mounting on my 25/06 AI Savage custom rifle. This scope has very good glass and adjustments are crisp and accurate. I performed the box test with it and POI ended right back on zero. I really like the EBR-4 reticle. The illumination, on it's highest setting is bright enough to be see on the sunniest day. The lowest works great for the last minutes of shooting time. It's a great scope for the money, just like I expect from Vortex. Vortex also has the best warranty and customer service in the business

Vortex 3x18 strike eagle
Vortex optics have been producing some very fine optics along with great customer service and unbelievable warranties. Had been having trouble sighting in 2 ar platform rifles. It does it, onto the mile
It tracks effectively. 3-18x44 does the mile. Getting to zero and out to distance is rewarding with the constrains of budget Strike Eagle 3-18x44. Over $1K scope makes the mile easier, but the reward is in the challenge. Would, prefer lesser color-aberation and a zero stop, but the price is right. Very special is the how accessible and ease to communicate with the Vortex team.
Best Used for:
- Middle and Long Distance
