Most Helpful Negative Review Flimsy and short
I bought this tripod to go with the Vortex Viper angled spotting scope for spotting wildlife in Yellowstone. I also hunt so I thought it might serve a dual purpose. However, it is very short, probably to economize on weight. I’m 5’10” and have to stoop down. Makes locating game difficult and it’s Not comfortable for long periods. Great for spotting scope with an “up” angled optic but not as good for straight one or for binos. Hardly weighs anything which is best part.

lightweight and packable but depends upon what you put on it

by Todd, Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on November 26, 2021
I purchased this to pair with the Vortex Razor 27-60 85mm Spotting Scope. Even with the angled eyepiece and me being on 5'7" tall, I felt the scope was too low to comfortably use this and I knew that my students that join me on birding outings were taller and would be even less comfortable. The legs move smoothly and the entire tripod if very lightweight. The spotting scope would drift after I locked the pan head in and that limited it's utility for digiscoping.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • height and stability
Best Used for:
  • cameras & other light weight equipment
