Chuck Hill's Review of Vortex Summit Carbon Tripod w/ Micro-Fluid Head
I've had this tripod for right at two months. I've used it exclusively with a very light-weight Opticron MM3 60mm spotting scope. This is my fourth tripod and by far the cheapest made. The positioning handle had pay in up/down movement from the get go. The weight hook fell off even though it has never been used. The adjustment parts of the head are cheaply made. Finally...the head itself developed "play" and scope would move even when adjustments are secure. Returning to Vortex immediately. I knew I should have bought a Manfrotto. No confidence in a Vortex tripod any more.
Pros:
Lightweight
compact
Cons:
Cheaply made
Would Recommend:
No
