Vortex venom 5-25-56 - Vortex Venom 5-25x56mm 34mm Tube First Focal Plane Rifle Scope

First, Great deal from Opticsplanet (Again!!) ...... Fast Shipping and well packed, no issues.......I mounted this scope on a Savage MK-II FV-SR in a Boyds At-One (Pillered and Bedded) Stock, and took it to the local 22 Bench Rest Shoot...... Held Zero perfectly...... unlike the eBay Westhunter I upgraded from....... (hated to spend $400 on glass for a $500 rifle!)........I did OK, shoot 2100...... (I'm still chasing my action screw torque setting)....... my only complaint is the reticle is very "Busy" so after sending a round down range most times where it hit was covered up by the hash marks on the tree....this force me to move the scope around to see where my point of impact was, so I could change my hold point....... the all black reticle made for poor sighting in on my Splatter Targets at home....... but now I'm Zeroed and it's good on the 50yd benchrest targets........ I think to get a better scope, you'll have to spend two to three times as much........ so Yes $400+ is a bit pricy for a budget scope on a budget rifle, but unlike No Name Brands it will hold a good used value in the future......especially with the Vortex Lifetime Guaranty
