Kyle Propes's Review of Vortex Venom 1x26.5mm Red Dot Sight
I bought this to mount on top of my Vortex 1-6 Viper PST. I was very disappointed when I discovered the elevation (up/down) was extremely limited. So much so, that I was not able to zero the dot. My goal was to have passive aiming for night vision applications as well as a 2.26ish high rise solution for short range applications (similar to the unity F.A.S.T mount solution).
Another con pertaining to the windage/elevation adjustment is the requirement of a special tool. Most dots I have come across can be adjusted by brass casings or typical EDC tools you may carry or have in your range bag. I typically always have Fixit Sticks and a Leatherman in arms reach, but this optic requires an extremely small gauge flathead screwdriver to make adjustments. Not a huge deal, but icing on the cake after the elevation bottomed out.
Pros:
None
Cons:
windage & Elevation restrictions
windage and elevation adjustments
