Vortex greatness - Vortex Viper HD 3-15x44 Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane

I purchased this scope for hunting in the PA woods because I realized my 5x-22x scope was just too much. The 3x power lets me acquire targets quickly when they are close and the 15x magnification is more than enough for the rare 500-yard shot. I like the fine VMR-3 reticle and the addition of the firedot is really nice and useful. The capped windage and locking elevation turrets prevent accidental adjustments in the field. The glass is clear at every power setting. Overall, this is just a really good scope.
I own several Vortex products because they have a great price point and you can't beat their warranty.
