Most Helpful Positive Review Reliability is Paramount!
My recent experience with Leupold has made me a Vortex customer for life! I've always used both Leupold and Vortex on a variety of rifles. Vortex has proven to be supreme. This particular scope is by far the best bang for the buck. The clarity, weight and reliability is excellent. But what I love most is the simplicity of the Dead Hold Reticle. It's just works for all age hunters. My annual out of state hunting trip came, and while siting in my new Browning 308 X-Bolt, my new, out of the box Leupold lost focus and became inoperable. Best viper yet.

It’s noticeably clearer than my 5-25x50 viper PST gen 2 at equal magnification. Which surprised me. I can read the small text on my paper targets at 100 yards. Also i really like the the illuminated reticle. I normally dont care about illumination, but this one draws your eye to the aiming point so well. Its like a combined a scope and a red dot sight. And its easily daylight bright. I really debated on getting this scope because its not a FFP but the limitation is well worth it for the reticle’s usefulness. It really helps you shoot and it reduces eye fatigue for me during long shooting sessions. Just have to remember to dial elevation or leave it at 15 power for using subtensions. I dont know if i would call it “a lightweight hunting scope” maybe a hunting scope with long range target shooting chops. Which is apparently perfect for me who doesnt really hunt.

Excellent clarity and performance

The Vortex Viper HD 3-15×44 rifle scope delivers outstanding optical clarity and brightness throughout the zoom range. The 30 mm tube feels solid and adds plenty of adjustment for elevation and windage. The glass is sharp even at higher magnification, and the reticle is easy to use without clutter. The build quality is rugged and seems ready for regular field use. Overall, a great all-around scope with excellent value for a 3-15×44 setup.

I had previous Leupold scope, with a 1” tube, which was fine but this scope with the 30mm tube is great for my older eyes.

Vortex Viper

Love this scope. Mounted it on my SBL 336. Wanted to set my 30-30 up with enough scope to be able to reach all of its capabilities. I will be passing this hunting rifle down to the next generation of hunters in the family. This will be one of many. Vortex has a great line for just about any application. This is my third Vortex and planning on buying more. Very satisfied!

Price was great and shipped out fast. Postal service dropped the ball but not Optics planet had nothing to do with that. Will definitely be purchasing more things from them. Scope is great everything you could ask for Vortex Viper HD 3-15x44.
