Supreme Optic Solution for Multiple Scenarios
I’ve been running the Vortex Viper Shotgun Multi-Reticle on my Beretta 1301 Tactical and straight up, it’s one of those little tools that just makes sense — solidly built, enclosed so it takes a beating better than an open reflex, and the multi-reticle setup is actually useful in real life: flip to a tight dot when you want precision with slugs, or use the circle+dot when you need super fast target pickup with buckshot. The glass is clear, the dot stays sharp, and the sight is forgiving with cheek welds and eye placement (which matters a lot on shotguns), the buttons feel tactile, and the CR2032 power setup gives decent runtime as long as you don’t run it full blast all the time. It’s not the tiniest or lightest option out there, and if you never plan to change reticles a single-dot version would save you a little cash, but for someone who runs varied loads and wants the flexibility to switch between speed and precision without changing optics, based on my time on the range with it, this one’s a keeper — tough, intuitive, and built like it won’t quit when the shooting gets real.

Good fit on Tac13
Just to let everyone know. This viper shotgun red dot fits the Tac13 really good. It mounted in far back hole in receiver in back single hole of mount and two forward holes in receiver at end of front and back of front mounting slot. This thing isn’t moving anywhere. Using 3 MOA dot with 65 MOA circle for 00 buck. The sight height is right for cheekweld on grip. Time of use will tell if it’s great or just OK.
Vortex quality
Very small red dot sight. Bought this because of how low it sits on the receiver. Multi dot selection and enclosed, what else can you want for a hunting shotgun sight.
Pros:
- small size
Cons:
- Not cheap
Best Used for:
- hunting

great lever gun dot
Big upgrade to my 1895 guide gun. I really like the low height over the bore for a better cheek weld.

small, compact, clear
This thing is going on my turkey tristar viper g2 410 turkey. It mounted up nice one the receiver. It only used 2 screws which is minimum per vortex but was very easy with the long slot on the front. It's not too wide and sits perfectly on the receiver. I got the multi reticle options which is nice, the glass is clear and the reticle is sharp and bright. I'm pleased with this enough I'll be getting a couple more for my kids turkey rigs soon.
Pros:
- compact
- bright
- Function
- Clear
- Easy mounting
Cons:
- Nothing yet
Best Used for:
- Turkey hunting

Great for aging eyes
I had to give up shooting iron sights years ago. I could still do the wing shooting with a shot gun fine. However with the development of Tungsten shot and tight chokes, I was struggling getting it all lined up and making those tight patterns hit where they needed to be at further yardages plus up close my shot gun was now shooting more like a rifle. I did not want a red dot setting up high on a Picatinny rail. This red dot sits right on the receiver and has multiple reticles to fit your needs. It’s been a blessing for me and I’m sure it will be for you.
