Amazing HD Optic for a Great Price!

by Mike C., Gear Expert from IL, United States Written on June 16, 2016
ED Glass and HD coatings are hard to find at this price, but Vortex hit the nail on the head. These are surprisingly compact for a 56mm bino. You cannot beat the clarity of this optic, and the armored grip makes them very easy to hold. Vortex includes rubber lens covers that fit perfectly, so you don’t have to worry about them popping off and losing them out in the field. The right-eye diopter is in the center, in front of the focus knob. I feel this placement makes it harder to accidentally turn it like other models where the adjustment is on the eyepiece. For this price, it’s hard to find anything better with such a large objective lens! A tripod adapter is included, so you can make sure to get the support needed for a stabilized view. These do have a high magnification and heavier than average objective lenses, so stabilization with a tripod is highly recommended!
Most Helpful Positive Review Awesome Product
I just recently purchased this item and love it. It does have a bit of weight so I highly recommend purchasing a full shoulder/back harness for hiking and packing the one I purchase is the horn hunter bino hunb with the solo max harness. There are few bino hubs that fit these optics. The clarity and low light vision is amazing. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Crystal clear and very durable. Been dropped several times and still work flawlessly! The price point is awesome as well. Save yourself the extra money from some of those other brands and get Vortex. Lifetime warranty! Can't beat it!

15x Binocular

by MichiganJim, from MI, United States Written on February 3, 2020
I conducted side by side vision test of this unit and the Kaibab 18x. The light gathering at dusk was better with the Vulture. All Vortex optics are very impressive and a value at more than the cost. These binoculars can be hand held for a little time, but are MUCH better when tri-pod mounted. The adapter is included.

Vortex Vulture

by Lefty, from NM, United States Written on November 11, 2019
I have the swaros, in the same optic as the 15x56 and in all honesty the vulture is very comparable to them, great glass for the price! Good in low light conditions and first thing in the morning. Bought a pair for my dad and father in law as they both had a Arizona deer tag. They both were able to spot a ton of deer with these. Would recommend a tripod as they are a bit heavy.

Vortex binoculars

by Nick, from IN, United States Written on January 13, 2019
Absolutely in love with these binoculars. A bit on the heavy side, but the rigidity and clarity and crispness of the image are excellent. I would recommend these to anyone. I’m actually leaning towards purchasing a vortex rifle scope now.

Great glass for the money

by ZekeB, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 9, 2018
After two glassing sessions I would give these 5 stars considering the price point. They are not Swaro or Zeiss 15's, but I had no issues glassing for a few hours twice now in the hot and dry Kalistan backcountry. Until I have $3K laying around for something I will only use occasionally, I will carry these and recommend them to anyone in the same boat. These will be glued to my face in SoCal, NorCal, and AZ this fall...
Pros:
  • Huge FOV
  • Great glass for the money would rate with entry big companies to there mid level.
Cons:
  • None

Binocular upgrade

by Kurt T, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on December 15, 2017
This are the first binoculars I’ve purchased in about 23 years. So much has changed since then. These are super clear with a wide field of view. I bought these for an upcoming hunt that requires a lot of glassing and these will fit the bill. Tripod is a must due to 15X. The pro and cons are pretty much in line with what everyone says. The only thing that was never mentioned was that they don’t seem to spread wide enough to be comfortable. It may just be me but that is my biggest disappointment.
Pros:
  • Price, clarity, Vortex VIP warranty,
  • Comes with tripod adapter
Cons:
  • Weight, lens caps are kind of cheesy,

Great glass for someone on a budget

by Nate, from AZ, United States Written on September 27, 2017
Best 15x56 in the $400-$600 range. Do NOT compare to the big boys of Swarovski, Leica, Zeiss, Minox and Meopta. Great sleek look, meets expectations for binoculars at this price range. This is the smartest thing that Vortex has done for marketing and production. Reaching out to those on a budget who cannot afford the big boys.
Pros:
  • Clear as the rest when the sun is completely out
Cons:
  • Blurring around the edges, not great during lownlihht.
Best Used for:
  • glassing

Great Binoculars

by Frank, from CA, United States Written on August 11, 2017
The only complaint is they are heavy, other then that you can't beat them, very clear and sharp, compare favorably to my Nikon ATB 10x24, the Vortex Vulchers are 15x56 and are great all around glasses! I would highly recommend them if you do not carry them long distances.
Pros:
  • clear,bright and sharp
Cons:
  • fairly heavy
Best Used for:
  • non moving viewing

Hunter and long range spot/stalk

by Chad, from NM, United States Written on October 2, 2016
Took a while to get used to optics this good. Looking at objects at close distance discouraged me, until I took them up the mountains and glassed long range. I could easily see the characteristics of the antlers of the bulls on ridges at 900+yards and further.
