Doesn't interfere with my hat, and does great job of filtering the report of the firearm. Allows hearing others speaking, and other surrounding noises, with volume control.
Only issue is when shooting gong type targets. It filters the report, and also the clang before returning to unfiltered state. Really a minor issue.
