NoobShooter's Review of Warne Quick Detach Low Rings
Ok... getting reacquainted to shooting after 20 years hiatus decided to go the super cheap route. Well, UTG/Leapers mounts are inexpensive for a reason. Works well for my 10/22 and plinking with the AR-15. However, once I got back into precision shooting at the "short" 100 yard range, I wasn't happy with my 6" groupings. The circular threaded rods used in the UTG/Leaper mounts fitted into the Picatinny rails has too much slop for my engineering mind. The Warne's have square "rods" that fit exactly into the width of the Picatinny rails. The tight tolerances on the "rods" means very little slop and chances of the scope mount sliding in the grooves of the rails are little to none. My 6" groupings are now easily 3" grouping (so I have much more to work on there). It's hard enough to shoot well. Having good rings at good prices means one less variable to worry about (also one less excuse for not hitting the target).
