I knew When I purchased my latest rifle what scope I’d mount - another Weaver V16 with Fine cross hairs and a target dot. I have this scope on three other rifles and consider it my “go to” for target and varmint use. Glass is clear and sharp, and returns to zero everytime. A great scope for the money, and one of the few in this price range with a target dot and fch’s.
Pros:
- Clear glass and reticle; tracks perfect; returns to zero

As I begin to work with this scope I am really loving it thus far. It is well built and it has no indication of parallax as advertised. The ultra fine cross hairs and small center dot are easy to work with and quickly get my rounds on target. So far it is great!

If you want a fine crosshair/dot combination reticle, you want Weaver SKU#849410. Don't expect to use this scope in brush or "busy background" applications; the crosshairs are very fine, and the dot is 1/4". If you are shooting paper targets, or in wide open fields, this scope is super. Since 2001 when I began varmint hunting in MT, this scope has become the "standard" optic on 17 different varmint rifles. It can focus down to sub 50 yard shots with a 17HMR, or make 500 yard shots with a 220 Swift. The adjustments are precise enough to be used on a 6mm PPC, and although a little long, it is light enough to use on short rifles in 221 Fireball. The 1/4" dot is almost exactly the size of a prairie dog's eye at 100 yards, and the fine crosshairs do not obscure the target making accurate shot placement easier. The positive 'click' adjustments on the knobs reliably move point of impact 1/4" at 100 yards. If varmint hunting at long range is your game, this scope has a lot of value for the price.

Great scope. Have 3 of them. Love the fine crosshair and 1/4 minute dot. Probably my favorite scope. Have many scopes and this is the best. Optics Planet is a great place and great prices. Fast shipping.

Fine crosshairs and dot are what I wanted and these are very fine. It can be very difficult to see the dot and crosshairs depending on the light available. It is critical to adjust the eyepiece focus to be able to see these. I could not adjust the scope to zero on an older 243W with Weaver type mounts and had to use 10 thousandths elevation inserts on the front ring to zero at 100 yds. Elevation adjustment would not go high enough without this increase. I have recently mounted the scope on a 222R using Leupold rings and bases and will soon attempt to zero this. It is not suitable for traditional hunting and I will reserve final judgment until I see how this works as a replacement for a vintage Leupold 8X scope. The 243 that initially carried this scope has had at least 3 other manufacture scopes mounted with no issues.

This might be a good scope for some people, not for me however. The crosshair is nearly invissable, cannot find the dot. I will try to swap it for another scope. At least it is not suitible for benchrest and/or precision rifle in my humble opinion.

This is a great scope. I love it. It's great in low light which is most important and is perfectly suited to my Tikka 223.
Delivery was fast and service was great. Thank you Optics Planet for such a smooth transition.

As my eyes get worse, I thought I'd try this out for indoor small bore (50')league, hoping image would be a little brighter and eye relief better than my current (and trusty) 16X Unertl. Turned out for les than half the price of the old tried and true Unertl, this Weaver did not disappoint. I really wanted the fine crosshair reticle, but apparently they are gone from production. The "Double X" reticle, for which I was initially skeptical) was next best thing and turned out just fine, as the center x is a fine crosshair anyway. So, at least for my purposes, this scope is a super score. Service I received from Optics Planet was great,, but that was no surprise, and the sales rep even knocked a few bucks off the advertised sale price. So, this was one more great purchase experience, which I guess is why I don't bother with any of the other internet sites.

A great scope for the money. The scope works very well on my CZ varmint rifle. the very fine cross hairs are a little hard to see in the woods but work very well for targets. Some scopes I have gather a little more light but cost twice as much. This scope works well in good light conditions.
