Own three Super Slam Weavers

by Donald, from TX, United States Written on December 30, 2016
and they are my best scopes for clarity/brightness of lens and reliability of their side focus and windage/elevation adjustments. Two of them are this 4-20x50. You should like the pull-up windage/elevation adjustments. FWIW, a fair number of my fellow range members have nice things to say about Weaver scopes; the Super Slams, Grand Slams and the T series target scopes.

The Super Slams are made in Japan by a very reputable company that makes the higher end scopes for Weaver and other well know brand scope companies.

I generally go to range I'm a member two or three times a week to shoot and there have been quite a number of rounds fired with one of my Super Slams mounted. Bought my first one around 5 years ago and quickly purchased two more of them shortly later.

There are three negative things I can say about the scope. It's not one to put on a light weight/carry hunting rifle. Its built like a tank, so kinda on the heavy side. Chuckle, a couple of my Super Slam rifles have fallen over and taken a pretty good hit with no problem. Other thing, kinda on the short size when it comes to over all length. You'd have problem with the spacing on the rings on say a Savage rifle with a long action....off-set rings or a one piece mount needed to reduce the spacing between rings. Last thing, not enough elevation adjustment for long range shooting. A 20 degree mount would be needed for long distances.

Perfect for hunting and 300 yds. range

I needed 30 min. to get the light on... the CR2032 was brand new but I could just see very, very little light. A friend told me to use some paper made of aluminum. That helped and fixed the problem with electrical contact. That was my only problem. This scope is the best I ever had. I would buy it again.
Pros: cristal clear optics, perfect illumintion, nice tubs
Cons: to fix the batterie
