Most Helpful Positive Review Solid Work Boots
I owned a pair of these previously which I got at the near give away price of $50 since they were factory seconds which seemed to make no difference in the boot whatsoever.Only wish I could find boots of this comfort and quality again for the same price but I DID find they were cheaper here than anywhere else.To make it plain and simple, whether you are on board an air craft carrier or if you work in a refinery like I do where you are walking on concrete, steel grating, and are climbing on and off of scaffolds all day, these boots are about as good as they get.Utterly and totally WATERPROOF with...

Wellco B251 boots

by Legacy Reviewer, from SC, United States Written on January 18, 2013
My pair has imperfection factory rejects at the toe (something stuck between leather and steel toe) and inside has sharp seams which hurts my small toe.

Leather on the upper part is soft and the entire boot sags when viewed from above. It is waterproof but that's all that's good. Weight is light. I felt that the inside lining is loose and not strong enough for long term life. The stitching is strong and of high quality but the construction assembly is poor. Light enough for temperate weather but being waterproof it is not aired inside. That is expected. For the money with the defects it is overpriced. Wish the inner soles were more comfortable. I use two.
Pros: Soles are gripping
Cons: Very uncomfortable. No proper foot insoles, Defects

B-251 Navy boot

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on December 26, 2012
Vibram soles are a plus on these and the Vibram laminate part is only about 3/8" thick over another type of rubber which is a surprise but my boots has a lump on the right toe between the leather and steel cap. There is also some noticeable lumps inside at the small toe area where the leather pieces where they all come together which will wear out the lining and my toes. Should have been smoothed down first. The upper portion of the boot is extremely soft which some may prefer, but I feel too thin to properly protect the ankle yet feels better than thick leather. Beneath the insole it's hard like wood so I can put more insole comfort in there. Left boot is fine, no lumps inside. I'll put a water patch on a shoe mold at the lump inside to try and get it to smooth out.
All in all they're not bad, just should have mentioned the slight defects. I would have bought from Wellco directly. Shipping was fast and transaction was smooth. I'll buy from opticsplanet again maybe.
Pros: Materials of higher quality; Waterproof; Made in USA
Cons: Factory rejects; Thin soft uppers, Inside lumpy
