Ben's Review of Weston Products Deluxe Electric Tomato Strainer
After looking for a tomato strainer to make my tomato sauce I settled on this one mainly because of the price and it was available. I am very pleases with this machine. I processed 1.5 bushels of tomatoes through it in about 20 minutes and made lots of beautiful sauce for my family.
It's about as loud as my KitchenAid Mixer which is nice because it won't wake anyone who is sleeping in the house. It cleans up easily and tear down and assembly is a snap.
It is a little messy but not a show stopper. Juice leaks from the splash guard where it connects to the nut on the auger. I got about 2 tablespoons of liquid on the table. Just lay some old towels down or do it where the small leak won't matter. Nothing comes out where the auger connects to the machine.
I recommend a drop of olive oil on the seal at the back of the auger to reduce friction and ware. It also makes the motor seem like it is not working as hard.
Well worth the price.
