Spectacular Unit

by sds, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 22, 2024
Spectacular unit has everything you need in a LAM and more. Starting off in low power mode, you get access to a vis and IR laser, the lower power, focusable VCSEL illuminator and an IR flood light. In all honesty, you can use this unit effectively at short range without the high-power features. However, if you do need to touch something further out there, the Raid Xe is more than capable of illuminating your target at longer ranges. Even with a civilian power unit this thing can be quite bright. Combine all that with the included ERGOCTO Xe Keypad and you have three buttons with all the commands you will ever need since, this thing is programable. If you sift through the menus, you can designate what each button does on the unit with just about any combination being available. In addition to other menus, I am still familiarizing myself with.

There was only one downside to unit. The mounting for the keypad is at an awkward angle from the picatinny rail. When I mounted it, I had to get creative with some added picatinny sections for my mlok handguard for it to be in a comfortable position. There appears to be a 3rd party solution available on the market that I will be pursuing.

If you can stomach the price tag and can get your hands on one, this is the LAM to have. Even if you can only get the civilian powered model.
Pros:
  • Light weight
  • everything in one package
  • programable activation kepad
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • awkward mounting for keypad
Best Used for:
  • Night activity
