I ordered Wiley XL-1 sun glasses that came with additional lenses. So, I also bought an additional frame. It was cheaper then buying two seperate pairs of sun glasses; One pair for daytime motorcycle riding, second for night time. While the gasket works great on the motorcycle and fits my face nicely, the gasket does not last. I bought the XL-1's in May, and by July the gaskets are falling apart. 2nd pair - price from Optics Planet tough to beat

Bought these so I could have 2 pairs fitted with prescription lens. One set has polarized lens for outdoor activities and one set with yellow lens for indoor activities and night driving. Lens purchased locally from my eye Dr. with same specs as from Wiley and a better price. Not a knock against Optics Planet, but, I felt I had more recourse with local Dr. if prescription lens turned out bad. Purchase from Optics Planet made even better with 15% discount on this item. As always; shipping and receipt of product from Optics Planet was timely.

Great Eyewear

I've used them for a long time while riding my motorcycle and during deployments. Finally needed to get actual glasses this year, so I bought these frames to that I could prescription lenses put in them. Looking forward to getting these back from Wiley-X w/prescription sunglass lenses in them.
Pros:
  • well built
  • good price
  • Good fit
  • Blocks wind & dust
  • Can get Prescription Lenses if needed
Cons:
  • Wish they had replaceable ear socks
Best Used for:
  • shooting
  • Motorcycle & ATV riding
  • Overseas Deployments
  • Other Outdoor Sports

Wiley-X XL-1 frame saved me $

Real glad the frame design around the lenses didn't change which allowed my old Rx lenses to snap right in! Saved me $$.

Old lenses fit new style frames

I had an old pair of WileyX XL-1 prescription sunglasses, but I broke one of the arms. The lenses from that old pair popped right into the new style of frame. If you've got old lenses and need a new frame, these work great!
Pros: Comfortable, prescription lenses available
Cons: Expensive, fogs up sometimes

Wiley XL-1

These are a little different from the earlier model. If you are just buying the frames, be aware that your lens from the old model will be loose on these. The temples are different also. They are a great value.
