Wilson Combat Bullet Proof Ambidextrous Thumb Safety
I have a Kimber Stainless Steel Raptor that had their traditional cast parts. The ambi safety snapped off, rather than putting another sub-par part in I opted for the Wilson Combat Bullet Proof Ambidextrous Thumb Safety. The part was not a drop in and required a bit of fitting where the safety contacted the detent and where the safety passed the trigger parts. This fitting was relatively easy with a small jewelers file. After fitting, the part is tons better in look and feel than the original Kimber part.
wilson getting sloppy
The second time I’ve purchased this and both times they have both had machine marks on left side. Not sure what’s going on with Wilson and nothing to do with optic’s planet. Shipping was fast and always score good deals

Oustanding quality ambi safety for 1911
Expensive but gets the job done exactly as needed. Requires no modification to stock grips, fits great, looks and feels great, and unlike some other ambi safeties out there this one doesn't stick out too much or look significantly different from stock appearance.

Drops right in, no need to file
This part was a great upgrade for my 1911, it was a perfect fit and I didn’t have to file it down to clear the sear. If you are unsure of the quality of the thumb safety your 1911 came with, or want to switch to an ambi-safety, this is a solid choice.

The only choice for ambi safety 1911s
Browning, God bless his soul, didn't see fit to put an ambi safety into his 1911. Modern ambi safeties usually use the grips on the right side to keep it tight, but if your gun doesn't use the grips, you can be left with a wobbly right side. Wilson's design specifically accounts for this and it seems to be wiggle free. If you can stand the wiggle, get this one and be done with it.
