Easy to install, excellent product! Love the look, feel, and weight of this magwell. Really nice to enhance reload speed.

Springfield 1911
I got this to put on my springfield 1911 operator. First thing is doesnt come with the mainspring spring so you either have to buy that separately or use the one from your current mainspring. Second I got it put together and when I put a magazine in it didnt fall out on its own, it need to be pulled out. So I had to file the magwell down so the magazines would fall freely. When I did that I realized that the 8 round mec-gar magazines dont seat. The 10 round ones do but not the 8. So I gave up and took the thing off. Waste of time and money.

Fits like a glove
1911 Colt Competition fitment was perfect.
removed spring and reinserted on my bench no vice. total time was probably 20 minutes.
Colt magazines fit in nicely, however the Wilson Combat magazines look much better.

Excellent magwell
Not really much to say. Wilson products typically live up to a hard won reputation. This magwell is no different. The fit in the mainspring housing channel is superb and the only hand-fitting that is necessary is if you have a pre-beveled magwell on your frame. Since I installed this on a S&W 1911 E-Series, fitting to the existing magwell was necessary, but really only for aesthetic reasons. Initial testing showed the flared magwell would have likely worked without modification, but I wanted to blend them together. All in all, it is a bit pricey but works as intended.

Wilson Combat Bulletproof Magwell
This is by far the cleanest machined magwell I have seen. I have read reviews previously where folks have been reluctant due to the price tag but I can tell you it’s worth the cost. I had initiallly went with high end competitor 2 piece variant and I should gave saved for thus one instead. Worth every penny. Fit us perfect in my Colt Competition frame
