rambie's Review of Wilson Combat Lo-Profile Holster
Overall I like it. It's a nice change-up from the IWB when you gain a few pounds and that EDC space is now occupied by love handles. More comfortable than any IWB I've tried. Wear with fishing shirt, tails out, no one can tell. I am really impressed how small it feels on my hip.
It ride a little high, trigger to butt is either at the belt line or above, which is what I want, so the bottom does not poke out under the shirt tail. I really like that it rides very close to the body, the butt of the gun snug against my love handles.
Double thickness carry belts are a bit tight to slide on, but it will go on. This is one holster I'd say it's design allows for most any single thickness belt, not just EDC belts. I don't feel a lot of weight pulling my pants down like other holsters.
Use with Springfield EMP and it rides high, but it feels secure. Also use with Officer's 1911 and it's really made for this type of handgun. Both, the trigger is well covered at all times.
I do NOT think it would retain the weapon during vigorous physical activity, such as tumbling. I test holsters by walking on my hands, (unloaded of course), would not stay very long. This is because it's riding on the outside of your belt. Slip and fall on ice, or other less vigorous action, should stay put.
Only gripe is it squeaks as I move, creaks like riding a horse on leather saddle. Not sure if it'll go away in time. Not sure how loud it is to others, maybe I'm being paranoid? No one has seemed to notice.
