This machine is hard to use if you are using it for small pieces. The circle in the center where the blade comes prevents even cutting when you hit the indentation border where the circle is. The wood has a tendency to jump. When I try to lift the wood slightly, the wood still jumps and dislodges. I would recommend getting a metal plate to put inside the circle to prevent the indentation at the border. This machine does not come with one. Perhaps, with larger pieces of wood this would not be a problem.
