JDoe's Review of X-Vision HIIT 1x Red Dot Sight

Bought this for it's closed emitter. I was willing to take the risk at this price point ($100) for an unknown brand. My recommendation is buy any one of the many name brand <$100 red dots, or save up and get a better closed emitter red dot. I'll probably mount this on a safe queen that I don't have iron sights on. Still need to take it to the range and see how it performs , just from my initial impressions I'm guessing it won't hold zero after getting knocked around or shot on anything beefier than a 22. This thing turns on in a heart beat, but trying to mash both buttons and turning it off takes too many tries. The red dot/circle is blurry no matter the intensity setting, it leaves artifacts all over the place when moving. There's some kind of reflection probably from the length between the emitter and front glass. For non-reflective coated lenses, this thing works just like a mirror. For as large/heavy/bulky this thing is, you'd think they could recess the adjustment screws, nope they stick out the side. And with the odd mount, the rear of the site has an exposed underbelly that doesn't look water/dust/drop proof. No the mount doesn't look like you can swap it for something else, but it can be taken off (I guess you could JB weld it). I gave it 2 stars since the packaging is nice and I haven't shot it yet. I do not currently recommend this red dot.
Pros:
  • Takes 2xAAA (chinese batteries included); red dot tracks edge-to-edge
Cons:
  • Heavy
  • Blurry
  • horrible refresh
  • emitter reflections
  • controls (turning off)
  • unprotected adjustment screws
  • vulnerable underbelly
  • allen key required for battery change
  • bulky/big
  • blue-green tint
  • distracting glass reflection
Best Used for:
  • Wasting batteries and $$$
