A Bit Pricey but Necessary
If you're attaching or removing a handguard that uses the YHM style barrel nut, this is going to be a practically essential tool for you. It's about the only way to get handguards of the like on and off without damage. As for the tool itself, it is nice and very solid and I appreciate that it's US made.

- Won't cause damage

Proprietory Tools
The item arrived in good condition. This is a forearm tool unique to Yankee Hill Machine manufactured quad rails and is a must for proper installaltion of their products. If you like teir original design quad rails this tool is for you. Glad I got it so I can quit scuffing up their proprietoy barrel nuts. Would recommend having one in your armorer's kit.

Needed for YMH Handguard Install
Was a little perturbed that I needed a specialized tool to install the YHM handguard but after installing the handguard and using the tool to do so I was very pleased to have it and that it worked so well. The install was easy and well described and the tool worked well - it did not mar the finish of the guard and tightened the nut solidly to the gun. You could manage to install without it but I highly recommend.

Works Well
Tool worked perfectly for changing the hand guard on my AR. Made it easy to remove the old barrel nut and install the new nut. Good price and fast shipping. Have purchased several products from Optics Planet and never had any issue with service or product.
