Broken eyecup - Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42mm Schmidt-Pechan Prism Waterproof Binoculars

I went to install the extended eyecups since the standard ones have poor eye relief. While following the instructions in the manual using proper technique, the left eyecup broke leaving the retainer ring stuck onto the eyepiece. I would have expected much higher quality for the price.
