Used this scope on sunny and cloudy day. In a word "disappointing". I was really expecting the quality to be on par with the name. The aberration and loss of resolution at higher magnifications were very unacceptable and distracting. I would say the view was very close to what you would see in cheaper scopes. I have seen better clarity out of Redfield and SuperSniper than this scope. I would recommend passing on this scope.
Cons:
- Resolution is not very clear
- Aberration

I got the scope on sale for 260 bucks. It was a great purchase at this price. I have no complaints whatsoever. It's the low-end Zeiss scope but it's still good quality. I would recommend this to anyone for a hunting rifle. The 300 blackout it's on is my 7 year olds deer gun.

Being as expensive as it is you would think it’s fog proof. Took it out one morning and it was showering and my scope fogged up. I tried wiping the lens but it didn’t work. Never had a expensive scope fogged up on me until this scope.

Zeiss low light shootability is unparalleled in my opinion. This scope is going on my wife's .270. Had a cheaper junk scope on it that cost her a big 5x5 at low light. No question about Zeiss performance in the early and late low light hours.

I purchased this scope because I have one on another rifle and was well pleased with it. I ordered another and when I was looking it over I noticed the elevation turret was hard to turn and I couldn't feel or hear the clicks. I sent it back to Optics Planet in exchange for a Leupold VX3i. I like Zeiss but might just stick with Leupold or save up for a Zeiss Conquest.
Pros:
- clear glass
- Zeiss Lifetime Warranty
Cons:
- Finger adjustable turrets plastic
- Seems not as well made for the money

Scope works fine. Not any better than the redfield my brother just bought for 100 bucks less. Satisfied with purchase though. I have tried several brands in this price range and this is a quality scope. Low light hunting is ok.

Bought this scope from all the good reviews about it. It definitely is a nice scope. I have read a lot of reviews saying it is a big scope but it doesn't bother me any. I don't think its much different than many other scopes. maybe a little sharper edges on it but nothing that bothers me. Cant wait to take this out in the field to see how it really works. So far I have just glanced through it in my backyard and it looks good to me. Just don't bother buying the scope covers for this. They are just like the cheap flimsy butler creek style plastic covers which break very easily.

This scope is fantastic. Clear, rugged, and having the ability to match factory ammunition with the Z8 ballistics calculator will aide in placing an accurate shot.
I chose to purchase the 3X 4-12X42 after reviewing other online posts about the warranty product information, you tube research, and reputation that Ziess optics will cover or replace if damaged.
Highly recommend this scope for big game hunting.

Excellent clarity even in low light.
Easy to zero.
Same Zeiss quality you would expect.
Eye relief excellent for heavy recoil loads.
Holds a zero with multiple shots fired with heavy recoil.
Was delivered promptly and in excellent condition.

Since this is my first rifle scope purchase I can not really express an expert opinion, however please find my comments.
I have mounted this on my recently built AR-15. No rifle component was purchased pre-assembled, all parts were carefully scrutinized before ordering (including the new scope) My intention was to build the rifle with a budget not being the priority, the end resulting in a very fine high quality sum of all components.
The Zeiss Terra fits beautifully, the quality workmanship is outstanding and the performance is impeccable, Zeiss will be my first choice for future projects.
