Most Helpful Negative Review Turret adjustments
I have never owned a scope that windage and elevation wasn't marked on top of the turrets ie arrow right for up or down and so on but you have to go to the owners manual for that. Other than that ok scope

Never holds zero

by Newfound Ziess hater, from AZ, United States Written on January 14, 2023
I put this scope on a .308 when I first got it, torqued it down and never could seem to get on zero, every group would love all over the target, so I tried everything, checked the torque, changed mounts, changed ammo, nothing worked, changed the scope to cheapie I had in the closet, and what would you know! Perfect groups. So I put it on another gun and the same thing, wondering zero. So I sent it back to ziess for warranty, and they told me there’s nothing wrong with it and charged me $65 to get it back. Definitely do not recommend this piece of garbage to anyone.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • will not hold zero
Best Used for:
  • Paperweight

Quality business

by Malone Browndick, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on January 12, 2018
I recently purchased a Zeiss Terra 3x 4-12x50 rifle scope with upgraded shipping. When I placed my order I was out of the country and my order was placed on hold and seen it wasn’t gonna make it by the time I was going to be heading on a hunting trip. Called customer service about my order and with the helpful staff got my order straightened out and they overnighted my scope with no charge. Got it mounted and my gun dialed in and was able to use it on my hunt.

Excellent Value

by Longbay Boy, from SC, United States Written on November 4, 2017
I bought this scope and a Leupold VX 3 around the same time for a matching set of Sreyr's. The Leupold has a little bit better low light performance, but I like the clarity at high power settings better on the Zeiss. Both great scopes. Optics Planet's price on the Zeiss Terra has been really good when you combine it with a coupon.
Pros:
  • Clarity
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting

Delay in shipping

by Chuck S, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on October 1, 2017
I was promised 2 day shipping but took 2 1/2 weeks to arrive. Outer packaging was perfect but hard plastic inner packaging was badly damaged. Mounted it to test it on a R.E.M. 700 243 and notified optic planet . Scope seems fine after sighting it in.
Pros:
  • Price
Cons:
  • Shipping delays
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • shooting

Worth a try

by Mark, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on September 24, 2017
It's a really good scope for the money. Has the zoom and is very clear. Looking for a scope for a good hunt, this one is for you. Haven't shot it yet but should be good. It's as clear as any Nikon or bushnell I have ever bought. Put this on my Remington 700 7mag.

Clarity at its best

by Love it well worth the money spent, from FL, United States Written on April 5, 2017
Love it well worth the money spent. I am thinking about buying two more and swapping out my Nikon and my Leopold. I would highly recommend this scope for anyone looking to buy a new one. You can't go wrong with a little bit of money spent. The clarity of this scope is far above Leah pool or Nikon

A scope for a lifetime

by Butch, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on January 2, 2017
I purchased this scope to put on one of my hunting rifles. I zeroed it and then took it on a week long hunting trip where is was bounced around on a 4 wheeler going through mud holes and rocks, transferred from trucks to 4-wheelers back to trucks and just basically man handled for the whole week of rough hunting. I am pleasantly surprised that it held zero. You never know if your scope will hold zero when you use your elevation knob but this scope did. Just to make sure I checked the zero after the hunt and it was still spot on. This is one great scope.

Good bang for the buck

by Bullseye, from KY, United States Written on December 1, 2016
I was looking for glass under $500. Mainly for deer hunting to 500yds. Got to look at one of these in a store. Was immediately in love with it. I like closed turrets so they don't get moved while in truck and on quad banging around. I like the clicks, very distinct. Glass is clear. This scope compares to the vortex viper 3.5x10x50 I just bought as well. The crosshairs is hair thin. Just like I prefer. It's now bedded on a Thompson prohunter in 300 win mag with Weaver steel X-high rings. I needed .370" clearance without caps, and now get about .560 clearance without caps. The bdc reticle is a must imo. I don't ever bother calculating drops with mil dots. I just zero every rifle at 200, then shoot each hash mark to see what range it hits. Then I print a drop chart photo and tape to stock. It's so simple my 10 yr uses it with a rangefinder.

Mounting hint: on each bottom ring, put a piece of the super thin 3m double stick tape to give a firm hold, to prevent canting of reticle when torquing. Or you can put a couple tiny strands of automotive plastigage on the bottom instead for same results, and always, always put a drop of blue #242 loctite on every screw.

Great scope

by Stevo, Verified Owner from MS, United States Written on October 5, 2016
I recently purchased this scope and am extremely satisfied with it. It is the clearest scope I've ever looked through. It is also reasonably priced. I have it on my .300 Win Mag and can't wait to drop some deer this season.
