I selected this brake a-priori (based on geometry alone) from a collection in a photograph of an on-line review—I predicted, “THAT’S the brake that will win the highest score in effectivity; I can tell just by the way it looks!” Then I watched the test. I was correct. ZRODelta actually understands gas-dynamics & how to apply/integrate physics into a product-design. Their Cowl Induction model scored the highest in terms of recoil force-reduction, because its port-design is optimized for functional performance, not fancy cosmetics. The size, shape, proportionality, etc of each port is designed to shave off a portion of muzzle gas to divert rearward while minimizing upset to the bullet as it passes through each successive baffle. This brake’s optimization for both recoil-redux AND bullet-exit accuracy appealed to me for my long-range precision barrel chambered in 6.5x.284 Norma (for which optimizing accuracy is my cardinality). Then, in the time it took me to buy my materiel (AWT chassis, ARC Mausingfield bolt-action receiver, Proof Research 28-in Sendero barrel, Huber Concepts trigger-group) to build this gun, ZRODelta came out with their gen-2 model, which is caliber-specific to the 6.5mm projos. So I ordered that one. Fits perfectly & looks great. Can’t wait to shoot it.
