It seems the threaded brass inserts in the factory SAI synthetic stock will need to be drilled out to install this item. Is that right? Expert Answer

This would replace the front swivel or insert in the rifle and would require some modification to make it fit properly and securely the way SADLAK intends.

Product Info for SADLAK QD Post Assembly

The Sadlak QD Post replaces the stock M1A/M14 front swivel for a more rugged, durable bi-pod attachment. It eliminates cracking of the stock during heavy recoil or rough use. The internal oval nut plate and external oval washer has approximately 3 times the load disbursement over the standard single Quick Disconnect (QD) post.image
