I can’t get this onto my carbine buffer tube, it fits on but I can’t get the “pin” that goes into the adjustable length slot low enough to fit it on.

I had to not use the lever to move the pin, but instead grab the entire lever assembly an pull it pretty hard to lift that pin enough for the brace to slide onto the tube. It gets easier after you try it a couple of times.

Does the SBA3 brace have steel QD sockets?

There is a steel insert inside the QD socket. Feels very secure to me.

I’ve bought two of these now. Works well, fits on a buffer tube nice and tight, but moves smoothly. Only thing I don’t like is how flexible the brace ‘mandibles’ or whatever are. They’re pretty soft rubber and can bend when you don’t want them to.
