Product Info for Vortex Summit SS Tripod ST-4

Vortex Summit SS Tripod ST-4 is a super-compact, super-stable tripod that's easy to collapse into your pack and quick to deploy, no matter how tricky the footing. These sturdy Vortex tripods collapse down to a miniscule height of just over six inches, making them a snap to carry on long-distance hikes and other pursuits where a light weight and small profile is essential. Twisting leg locks allow for rapid height adjustment, and the variable leg angles of the tripod let you twist the Summit SS into just the right position for your observation. The Vortex Summit Super Short Binocular Tripod is equipped with a handle-free ball head to reduce the weight of the tripod, and its quick release plate allows you to remove and install spotting scopes and binoculars at a moment's notice. Though it's compact, the Summit SS is also stable, with rubber-tipped legs and a balance hook for holding extra weight during blustery days. To further improve the compact height of the tripod, Vortex Optics has built in a split center column in the Summit SS, which allows you to remove the bottom portion of the column for an incredibly low minimum height. To be able to fit a full sized, 5-section tripod in your backpack, you'll need the Vortex Optics Summit SS Five Section Tripod.image
