Yankee Hill 431536A Mini QD Flash Hider 5.56 NATO Black Phosphate 1/2"-36 tpi - The Mini's compact design meets the demands of today's close quarters combat situations in which "bullets in the eyes" are the norm. Gas cylinders are not very effective at reaching peak conduction, so flash hiders are a good choice to reduce flash to infrared light. The flash hider body is 1 1/2 times thicker than the average A2 flash hider and has a greater surface area and greater thickness than most A2 flash hiders. The flash hider body is manufactured from steel, not one of the chromium steels which tends to corrode with age. This particular model has a quick detach front sling attachment. The flash hider body is fluted on two sides to allow some back-contour for added concealment. The flash hider is held in place by an integral QD carbine spring. The flash hider body is easily installed by hand. The one piece design allows the operator to quickly remove the device from his weapon with only one hand and no tools required.
