Pachmayr Decelerator Grip

I purchesed these Grips as a recomondation from anopther shooter.
Originally I had the Wood Grips and was having a problem with the Spent Cases Hanging up on the Wood Grip when ejected
Still have the Same problem so I think I will have to modify the Pachmaryr Grips. Other than that they are very comfortable and give a very positive grip
Pros: Feel Great
Cons: Poor Fit...

Not so good

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MD Written on April 23, 2012
Let me first say that I have several Pachmayr grips that I feel are some of the best for the specific guns. This one for the Super Redhawk has realy missed the target. First and formost is the grip does not seem to have a solid connection to the pistol frame. It gives a sort of mooshey feel as if the gun is squirming insid the grip. I think this is caused by the very soft rubber. Mounting the grip was straight forward as it mounts like the stock grips with excption of it being a one piece design the slides over the back of the gun frame and closes back up along the front of the grip. This brings me to the second thing that I feel needs some redesigning. The seem along the grip in front does not meet together very well. I believe this contributes to the squirmy feel. It is also some what unatractive as well. I ordered the Houge after this purcase and found it to be a solid fit, with much better feel. Soft enough to absorb some of the .44 recoil yet gives a feeling of control of the gun. Just one man's opion....

This is a great grip to tame the recoil of lightweight J Frames. It's full sized so your pinky finger has a place on the grip too.
Pros: covers backstrap, fullsized grip

I put these grips on my S&W 629 .44 magnum. These are a MUST have. Makes shooting the .44 mag fun! No sting like before with wood grips.
Pros: Fit and recoil reduction is awesome!
