Most Helpful Positive Review Nice item
This is a great grip to tame the recoil of lightweight J Frames. It's full sized so your pinky finger has a place on the grip too. Pros: covers backstrap, fullsized grip Cons: none
Most Helpful Negative Review Not so good
Let me first say that I have several Pachmayr grips that I feel are some of the best for the specific guns. This one for the Super Redhawk has realy missed the target. First and formost is the grip does not seem to have a solid connection to the pistol frame. It gives a sort of mooshey feel as if...

Good Design for larger hands

by hoosier, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on August 16, 2018
This grip is a good ergonomic design for those with large + sized hands. It covers the steel backstrap to soften recoil on those heavy loads. It does make the grip longer back to front and longer top to bottom, but not by much. I think these are made in China now, and they have some excess rubber at the edges that you will need to trim off - reason for the one star reduction.
Pros:
  • Strong
  • absorb recoil
  • good for large hands
Cons:
  • quality not what it used to be
Best Used for:
  • Heavy loads
  • Recoil sensitive shooters

Its OK, except for the front split line

by Mike, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on April 24, 2016
It is a nice grip for reducing recoil. The only problem i have is that it is a "clamshell" type grip, where the front of the grip is the open side. When i squeeze the grip, I notice that it shifts at the split line and this bothers me. I did try applying superglue at the front split line, but i am not sure how long this will last.
Pros:
  • Reduces recoil
Cons:
  • None

Not As Pictured

by zooba7, from MO, United States Written on December 20, 2015
The grips that I received were good grips. The problem is that they are not the same ones as those that are pictured. I wanted the pictured grips because they would keep the Blackhawk Hunter from flipping up as much. Unfortunately they are not the ones that I received. I have seen other reviews from different sites that have had the same problem. It looks like a lot of sellers are showing the wrong picture for the grips that they are selling.

Pachmayr Decelerator Grip

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 31, 2013
I purchesed these Grips as a recomondation from anopther shooter.
Originally I had the Wood Grips and was having a problem with the Spent Cases Hanging up on the Wood Grip when ejected
Still have the Same problem so I think I will have to modify the Pachmaryr Grips. Other than that they are very comfortable and give a very positive grip
Pros: Feel Great
Cons: Poor Fit

The fit is no longer like the old Pachmyars. Not snug at all. Gun is loose in grip.
