The Aimtech APM-7 Colt 1911 Mount is extruded and then machined from heat treated aluminum alloy on CNC (computer numerically controlled) machining centers. After machining, the mount is hand deburred and then vibratory tumbled and/or glass bead blasted before receiving a mil-spec anodized coating in a beautiful satin black. No putty has to go behind the grip and no holes have to be drilled. Two custom screws provided with the AimTech Colt 1911 Mount replace the mainspring housing pin and the hammer pin. These two, along with the two grip screws, provide a fantastic quad lock fit. By mounting on the right side it stays clear of all the "trick" accessories and iron sights are still usable. You can't get a better no-gunsmithing mount.
