Ameriglo describes this product (GL443) as having orange outlined front and black outlined rear sights. Why the difference?

The contrast to to help you focus on the front sight, the orange theoretically helps you acquire the front sight more quickly. The rears are blacked out so as to not be a distraction especially when used with a reflex sight. The lamp colors sometimes vary to help you align the front with the rears in low to no light conditions.
