Mike's Review of Burris Handgun 2-7x32mm 1in Tube Second Focal Plane Rifle Scope

I bought this scope to go on a Ruger Super Red hawk in 454 Casull. The Scope is bright, easy to see and not real heavy on an otherwise heavy Revolver. I had read all previous Reviews for several Pistol scopes and decided this was the way to go. I am glad I bought this scope. As other reviewers have stated the eye relief at 4 or greater changes but trying to hold that gun steady at 2 powder is not easy at 7 power impossible. If shooting from sticks or a bag its not bad, but that is the nature of Big Bore Guns and nothing to do with the scope. First thing I noticed was how bright the scope is. Wow. The Second Wow came after the third time to the Range and NO change in zero at all. I hate to admit this but first trip to range I was sitting on a folding chair and after one of the Big Bangs form the Casull, the Chair broke, me, gun, and scope were laying on a concrete floor, the scope hit the floor and I though Oh, Boy, there goes that, but except for a small scratch it works fine and never lost Zero. I would not recommend this for a test, but I think the scope is pretty darn tough. So far I have shot over 300 full pressure loads of 45 Colt, and over 100 mid load Casull and its right on the money. I own lots of Scopes, but this is my first Burris. It will not be my last.
Pros:
  • tough
  • Bright sight picture,
Cons:
  • did not come with Lens Caps
Best Used for:
  • Big Bore Revolvers
Would Recommend: Yes
