Great catch dor rhe money

Written on Dec 09, 2025

While it may nit be the most fancy high end catch out there, it's definitely a steal for the price paid. AR10 LPK's are notoriously expensive compared to the AR15 counterpart, the difference being the bolt catch and the magazine release. This budget buy allows to to be a bolt catch away from building an AR10 LPK at AR15 pricing

Outstanding barrel, a rebranded Faxon?

Written on Nov 10, 2025

Great barrels for the money, the 300BO barrel looks to be a rebranded Faxon, but don't quote me on that.

Excellent barrel, outstanding price point

Written on Oct 24, 2025

I compared this to the Faxon in the same configuration (I own other Faxon's as well) and I believe this to be a re-branded Faxon. Same material, profile, twist, finish, I.D. fonts...just different logos and a $60 price difference. I scoped the barrel while installing the gas block abd aside from a small burr at the gas port (easily removed with a brass cleaning brush) the bore looked fantastic.

Pew Pew Boing Boing!

These springs do just fine for the intended purpose. I highly recommend having a couple of spares on hand. If not, Murphys law will always strike.

Great upper, but be prepared to do some prep work.

I ordered two of these, one sniper grey and one burnt bronze. I started with the dust cover. I oiled up the hinge pin and fitment was unusually tight, so tight I had to use my tiny AR pin hammer to tap it in. Same thing with the forward assist, I was thinking the roll pin was just a tad large, it took some serious blows to drive it in. The WTF moment came when I went to slide it on my midwest upper receiver rod for barrel assembly. The farther on it went, effort increased to the point I was using a rubber mallet. I stopped maybe 2 inches short of where the barrel chamber engages as i was concerned about getting it off the rod. When i went to insert the barrel (ballistics advantage) it wouldn't even begin to go in. At this point i broke out the dremel and wire wheel to remove the cerakote in the whole, an there was plenty of it! I had to use the barrel nut to pull it into the fully seated position, its that tight! I've used this same upper sold by other companies, none were like this. When I tapped it off the receiver rod (3lb hammer and old nylon foregrip) it actually wore the anodizing off the rod in places. I've came to the conclusion that the cerakote was applied way to thick. I suspect that tomorrow i will be removing cerakote from both front and rear pin holes, and check the BCG fitment. Outside of the cerakote being about .002 too thick everywhere it's great. If ABC machined this, its on them, but I doubt that since it's every feature. We'll see how the Bronze one goes.

A must-have for barrel and muzzle device changes

Written on Sep 05, 2025

These are a must-have even if you're just changing muzzle devices, let alone barrel changes or installs. It locks the upper using the charging handle slot, and the barrel by the lugs.this takes all if the stresses off the tiny location pin and the uppers threads. It also prevents distortion of the barrel-to-upper alignment keeping accuracy at its best. As for muzzle devices, when you're tweaking something on the end of a 16" barrel it acts like a lever, stressing and cracking the reciever threads without seeing it concealed by the nut. Your barrel acts like a tuning fork with every shot and you'll go crazy wondering why that new barrel, custom reload, new muzzle devices, ect gave you an 8 inch pattern. These are worth is in just saving "WTF" thinking time.
