Most Helpful Positive Review RUSS IS WRONG AND SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED
One of the reviews from "Russ" says that these barrels are manufacturer defects and then says it is because his rifle-length gas tube is too short. Well, yeah . . . these aren't designed to be used with rifle-length gas tubes. They're designed for the extra-long gas tube. Instead of being humble,...

Most Helpful Negative Review head spacing issues
This is the email I got back from LaRue in response to me going to them with a headspace issue. “If the barrel is going into a non-LaRue AR10 receiver set or non-LaRue BCG, there is a fairly good chance the parts are not compatible. Unlike the AR15, the AR10 does not have a MilSpec standard....

‘Russ’ is wrong and ‘Russ is wrong’ is also wrong

by HAbel, from TX, United States Written on December 10, 2025
Larue stuff is incredible. Second, AR10 are not like AR15, there are two worlds of 308 AR’s and each world is still finicky, Ie Armalite Ar10A vs B.. But really this is more about guys being good guys. Russ clearly doesn’t get its a rifle length gas tube plus 2”, and it is embarrassing to be looking at this quality and level of product and not know that… but you’ve got to start somewhere and you don’t know what you don’t know.. I guarantee if he saw your response ‘Russ is wrong and should be embarrassed’, now he knows. But you don’t have to a D about it when you correct a brother. It could have came off more of a giving a hard time, but the all caps- you sound angry. The gun community is one of the last groups of decent people we have in the country. Let’s pick each other up, and be positive.. what you say? As far as the barrel, I have no idea, I do bet the 2”+ makes it shoot very soft for an AR10. Ive been looking at this thing on here for 2 years, and these reviews, and if it’s a legit Larue barrel, you’re getting a complete steal. I have a good number of other Larue products and they are Premium A grade stuff. Just do your homework and don’t be like ignorant Russ, or D Russ. And also know what is coming with the order. This is like a $700’barrel, you’re not getting any extras.

Barrel itself is fine but…

by A. Haley, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 4, 2025
The photos are a little misleading on this as it shows a complete barrel setup. It’s not, the only thing you’ll get with the purchase is the barrel alone. You’ll have to buy a barrel nut, gas tube and gas block plus whatever muzzle device you desire. The gas tube length is also incorrectly listed a rifle length. **You will need a rifle +2 gas tube for this barrel.**

Aside from that it’s the typical LaRue quality barrel for a good price especially if coupled with a discount.

Defective headspace. Do not recommend.

by EB, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on January 7, 2025
I’ve purchased multiple Larue barrels from OP. As it turns out, every one of them has defective headspace. Checking with headspace gauges, the bolt will NOT go into battery. Not the case with other brands … it looks like they may be selling “blem” products here that are actually unusable.

Bad barrel

by Russ, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on January 4, 2025
I have had Larue barrels in the past and they have always shot well.
This barrel was a manufacture defect. The rifle length gas tube was still 2 inches too short to fit properly. I contacted OP and Larue and no one has returned calls or emails about making it right. They can't even assure me that if I send it back the next one will be manufactured corretly.

Great Barrel

by Dan, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on December 7, 2024
This seems to be a great barrel. Im consistently shooting sub MOA. It’s a bit heavy but I don’t plan on carrying this gun around too much. As stated in another review you need to purchase a rifle length +2” gas tube to work with this barrel. I bought mine from Larue directly and paired it with an SLR adjustable gas block. Works great together. Anyone buying this I would suggest buying a Tubbs AR10 flatware buffer spring because I had cycling issues with my build using this barrel and that spring fixed the issue.

honestly don't know

by Ryan Campbell, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on November 13, 2024
I don't know how good this barrel is because I've been sitting on it trying to figure out the gas tube length. I emailed larue for info and got the vague response "the xl one". So i when to their site and saw the tubes bit only from pistol to rifle length, at least according to the listed items in the picture. So I got a rifle +1 and was still too short. After a week larue sent me an sku number and there i was able to find a rifle+2. But I've already order another from odin works through op. In all the pictures I looked at on op and larue they all show this barrel with larue gas block and tube installed leading me to believe it came with them,as it should. I' probably built 100 ar15s and 10s and had never even heard of rifle +2 gas tubes. This barrel should come with everything in the pictures since it such a niche setup. And I dont care for the so called assistance I've had from larue. I hope when I get to actually shoot the gun it accurate enough to be worth the pain its been getting there. I DON'T LIKE LARUE!!!
