Compared to my Leupold ll’s this appears to be every bit as good. Very clear image and the same eye relief as the Leupold. I really like the German 4 reticle. At first I thought the turrets would be too big but they look fine.

Mine has the Ballistic Reticle. It is mounted with Warne QD rings on a CZ550 458 Lott. It takes the recoil and returns to Zero. Use the Nikon online software to set your MPBR and print out your hold overs. It is a no brainer for a hunting scope set up where one needs to engage the kill zone at various preset ranges and not have exposed turrets. It is a no brainer.
Now a Ballistic hold over reticle is not a target reticle for F-Class, benchrest or LR-Target you need an MOA reticle and perhaps a Mill-DOT if one is nostalgic, I have them both and an MOA reticle is more refined than a Mill-dot, they both have their place.
This scope is bright and clear and well worth the money.
Again one will buy nice or end up buying twice.
Pros:
- price construction quality
Best Used for:
- CQB DG Hunting PB to 200 yard

I recommend this product I knew exactly what I needed shooting service rifle, with the new rules which allow up to 4.5 power,I know Nikon to,I have owned all kinds of scopes many are over priced and over rated, this scope with 120 MOA will do anything you need from hunting to target shooting,1/2 minute clicks with put you on target downrange quick,it bright with large field of view on the lower powers guys it will work in the woods very well, the German reticle is a fine cross hair good for any type of shooting.

I looked at a lot of scopes. For the money this was the brightest and sharpest scope. Beats Leupold etc. Also true 1x so I can keep both eyes open. Wider view than all the this $$ range. Easy to sight in I used Nikon 223 mount. I wish the cross hairs were more defined. Shooting in brush or any confusing backgound makes it hard to see where the hairs cross. Still truly excellent for any price.
Pros:
- bright
- true 1x
- Sharp wide view
Cons:
- BDC reticle as well defined as I woukld like

Really nice scope. Nikon does it right. This scope seems to go to a true 1X. The Leupold in the same price range does not. Very good clear optics. Built like a tank. Only minor beef is front flip on cap sometimes doesn't stay closed, but may just be mine.

Great quality glass for the price. Great clarity and light transmission. Great field of view and quick target acquisition on 1x w/ both eyes open, even in low light.
However, Reticle circles are basically too small to use effectively. With only 1-4x they have to be smaller obviously but If they were horizontal lines instead of circles, they would be more useful. I have a 4-16x monarch on my .308 and the drops are extremely useful because the circles are much larger.
If you expect to use the BDC like you would on a Nikon with higher magnification, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
Cons:
- Reticle circles and subtensions are extremely small

Just sighted in with it on Monday night. 5 shots to get hole-cutting zero at 100 yards from the .45-70 guide-gun. Great clarity, brightness and super smooth turrets. I would have been zeroed in three shots had I not been playing around with windage- slick operation.. The zoom isn't much to crow about yet magnifies clearly at the full spectrum. Need to play with getting the BDC reticle to get my yardages - but 300grn slugs are a bit unforgiving in the aerodynamic coefficient department..

I got this scope mounted it on my Colt AR-15 and had to wait two weeks before being able to take it the range. Longest two weeks of my life so far. I love Nikons BDC reticle and their spot on website. It makes shooting so much easier at distand with out having to guess. I have only taken this scope out to 100 yards and it helps my AR drive tacks. I couldnt be happier with this new scope, Its just another great product by Nikon. The Nikon line of scopes are the only ones that I will put on top of my guns. They have great low light visibility so when you think you are done hunting just peek through the lense and you will have no issues seeing what your looking at on the other end of your scope. I bought this scope for 3 Gun competitions and I think it will do just great. The BDC will make it so much easier for me to hit targets at distand when I need to.
Pros:
- Target acquisition
- compact, easy to use for beginers as well as advanced users. It's main use is for terrestrial objects but what makes it stand out is it's an all purpose scope.
- Easy to use. Very clear optics
Best Used for:
- close to mid range shooting
- target, comp, hunting, defense

My favorite all purpose scope for normal hunting conditions. High quality all the way around. Can be used out to 400 yes but sweat spot is 0-200yds! I have converted my three most used rifles to this scope (223, 308, 338 WM) for most of my hunting needs. I use the BDC reticle on all reticles.
