Most Helpful Positive Review Best Budget LPVO on the market!
I have owned several budget LPVO (Burris 1-4 & 1-6, Cabelas, Swampfox, Vortex SE 1-6 & 1-8, Truglo, Sig Sauer, Primary Arms) and although they were good to very good and even great; the biggest downfall was the illumination. I understand that the main purpose for an illuminated reticle is for low li...

Most Helpful Negative Review PA SLX 1-6 Gen 4
I have the Vortex Viper PST and this is the PA clone. The packaging is comperable, the cross hair is identical. The eyebox is not even close but comparable to other brands in this price point. The clarity is very good in the center but has significant distortion at the edges. Price is the factor her...

Excellent LPVO

by Barndog1, Verified Owner from KY, United States Written on October 29, 2025
This Primary Arms 1-6x24 LPVO is of excellent quality. The glass is extremely clear. The reticle is easily understood and delivers excellent shot placement with bullet drop compensation marks. The build quality is excellent and appears to be very durable. The Primary Arms optics are lifetime warranted and I have never had a warranty issue. This was installed on a AR-15 5.56 and I highly recommend it. The pricing and delivery by Optics Planet was outstanding.

Primary arms 1-6 Gen IV ACSS SFP

by Todd, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on March 31, 2025
After MY mistake on the order, Optics Planet fixed it and got me the correct scope. Amazing customer service!!! About the scope. Great eye box and glass clarity. I’m replacing a 1-6 from another company that had the circle around the aiming dot. That started to obstruct my field of view. Love the chevron design and built in ranging tools.

Primary Arms 1-6x24mm LPVO ... Gen 4

by Matthew Morian, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on March 3, 2025
I am new to the world of LPVO's and did a fair amount of YouTubing to find the right mix of reviews, price, feature set, availability, etc.

I was close to pulling the trigger on an Arken EP8, which is a first focal plane and at a similar price to the PA. I was lucky enough to run into an Arken dealer at the gun show and got to see the "kill box" reticle for myself. I am glad that I chose the PA! Until you experience the difference in brightness that the Gen 4 offers, it is hard to describe the best of both worlds you give yourself with a 1x and a big bright dot. I think it is better than my red dots and allows for way more versatility. Great optic and am considering this for other builds.
Pros:
  • bright
  • Versatile
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Distance
  • Close quarter

Astigmatism warning

by Amacl, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 8, 2024
Let me start with I have pretty bad astigmatism. I saw reviews that the fiber wire reticle is good for that and while that is true, the problem with this optic for me is it was just too darn bright. I personally keep my illumination on low for low light settings, then in bring environments i have the etched reticle. Even on level 1 in low light this star bursted like crazy, because it was still so bright. Ultimately I switched up for the regular etched reticle which is way dimmer and better for me and my use case, and saved me some money. Both great optics, just an issue with me I didn't realize.

Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24mm is a winner

by petski, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on November 12, 2024
Earlier this year I ordered a PA SLx-1 scope with the illuminated ACSS Predator reticle. I was disappointed with it because the sight picture was awful with my eyeglass prescription. Reticle was too tiny to see clearly. I returned it and ordered a similar scope with the Nova Fibre Wire reticle, and can happily say I can see it quite clearly. Scope has a good range of illumination intensity, and the 1-6 power is perfect for mid-range shooting situations. Overall I'm quite pleased with it.
Pros:
  • Great price point
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Mid-range

Nice glass and love the fire wire dot

by Rickyblaze, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on September 16, 2024
This is my second Primary Arms LPVO scope. I have to say that I was a little skeptical of the Nova site fire wire until I had one in my hands. I love the reticle and I really love the fire wire red dot, it is very bright and precise. It's going on my 350 Legend deer pistol. Highly recommend this scope.
Pros:
  • Clear optic
  • Nice precise red dot
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Anything you want to use it for
