Scope works as it should. Navigating through the menu options is simple and easy. I would recommend using an additional IR light to increase distance.
This is my second night vision sight and I am not disappointed!
Cons:
- need to use optional IR light to see further distances.

I've had this scope for a couple of months now and have used it for several hours in the field. It takes a little getting used to in order to get the most out of it. Once you learn it and practice adjusting for various lighting conditions such as daylight VS night it is amazing. The built in IR illuminator is fine out to around a hundred yards. I added a T20 illuminator from ebay for 50 bucks and OMG. I can see clearly for over 300 yards. Battery life with the built in illuminator is about what is stated in the specs but if you turn on the built in IR it depletes them very quickly. I also added one of the pulsar external battery packs and have yet to drain the battery even after 2 to 3 hours of steady use. I can't really say how long it will last as I haven't been able to run it down while hunting and I plug it back up when I come in. As far as resolution and visibility it is definitely at least Gen 2+ if not Gen 3. I think some of the bad reviews I've seen here can be mostly attributed to inexperience with the scope.
Pros:
- Gen 3 clarity at a Gen 1 price
- Gen 3 quality at a Gen 1 price

Based upon another reviewer it appears that I may have a $1500 paperweight on my hands. Will change / update review if I find it to be anything other than irreparable, but I am not hopeful at this point.

I bought one in 2012. I loved it. I recommended it. They really perform as well as any Gen 3 NV!( i also have a pVs 14 and a flir so I know how good the image is) I even fitted a "doubler" lens kit (Sony 1.8X) lens that makes it 8 power and very clear. Awesome. I have put maybe 24 hours on it in 3.5 years. This year, the image and reticle went out. So it's just beyond warranty. I learned, IF IT BREAKS IT CANNOT BE REPAIRED. I'm sure its just a matter of one of the several boards going bad, but there is no service in the US. I spent the money then because they advertised 10000 hours typical life and was designed for extensive use. That is FALSE. The unit looks and feels robust and durable but is basically a fragile microelectronic system with a highly sensitive CCD sensor. It is a great technology, but disposable, so greatly overpriced. If you want Gen 3 performance (for a while) at a third the price this is it. But when I spent that kind of money plus $300-400 in IR flashlights, Doubler kit and external power supply (you need it, it eats batteries in 20 minutes), I never imagined that in 3.5 years I would be left with a very nice looking piece of Junk.

Arrived on time and well-packed. Internal batteries won't power the unit, but works great with an external battery pack. Good visibility, instructions are easy to follow. Set-seems easy to perform. Haven't fired the rifle with it mounted yet, but very interested in the 'one shot' option.

I was having big problems with unwanted night visitors to my backyard. I first mounted a flashlight to my pellet rifle, but the animals would see it and run long before I could get a shot off. I bought the Pulsar N550. I also have a night vision security camera system set up. When the alarm would sound I would grab my Umarex Octane pellet rifle with the Pulsar N550 mounted on it. None of the dangerous animals that I was having no luck getting rid of had no idea they were being locked in on and I could put them down before they even knew what hit them. I put down a 50 pound coyote with one shot in his left eye, I couldn't believe it when it happened. I expected to see him just run off like all the other times, but he dropped instantly. My property abutts an area where there are lots of coyotes and I am constantly concerned about protection for my grandchildren and pets. I now have one less coyote to worry about. The N550 is absolutely awesome and at a great price. I recommend it to anyone looking to do any kind of night shooting. Any nights that there are no varmints to worry about I have a small shooting range set up with pop up targets so I can keep sharp when I need it most. I have now gone 2 straight weeks on no night time visitors at all. With all the things that cause stress in a person't life the N550 have given me one less thing to worry about. Buy it you won't regret it!!
Pros: easily mounted, very clear view, easy to zero, choice of reticals
Cons: none...

The unit is well constructed and light compared to some of the units I used in the Military. I bought the "Doubler adapter on ebay from "colmarlowe" Which works on the principal of the "Cantilever" is anchored at the top. The beam carries the load to the support where it fits nicely into he scope 's recessed housing in the front and is forced against it by cantilever force. Cantilever construction allows for structures without external bracing. (Think of the Golden Gate bridge) Then I added the Yukon doubler night vision scope lens. (Nothing made for a camera) to colmarlowes "doubler adapter" and SHAZAM! I also added a TNVC torch pro IR Illuminator on top of the unit (The doubler lens adapter from colmarlowe has a rail accessory on top of the cantilever) and I am looking at insects on big white flowers at 100 yards! (You have to adjust the focus knob on the scope, and the diopter on the eye piece and it is very very good. But here is the kicker. With the yukon doubler lens on "colmarlowe's doubler adapter I can screw the Yukon lens in or out to fine tune the focal length (And lock it with the locking ring) and I can now see insects on white magnolia flowers at night at 100 yards!!! (Colmarlowe is an engineering genius)He takes a good scope and makes it phenominal!!! I am watching deer out at around 300 yards and I clearly saw a does urine stream with amazing clarity!!! (With the TNVC Torch pro IR illuminator) If you are only going to use the onboard IR then unscrew the cap an...

It worked better than I anticipated, easy to setup even without instructions. Relative to the market, this is a great value for the amount paid, maybe the best.
Pros: Worked great, almost didn't need instructions. Easy to setup.
Cons: No instructions were included. It's a little bulky
