I recently received the 10x50 version of these and loved them. I decided to purchase the 8x30 due to the size. The 8x30 fits the hands perfectly for all different size hands from my 15 year old daughter to 80 year Dad. I have owned many binoculars cheap and expensive and the quality and value of Steiner optics are second to none. The true beauty of these binoculars are no need to focus. Seriously, just put to your eyes at any distance and everything is in focus.

a fine binocular. I had some difficulty threading the strap through the slots in the armor but eventually I triumphed. I am glad there is no focus wheel just seperate diopters on each eyepiece lens. a very sturdy and compact porro binocular. I soon found my focus sweet spot and the sharpness is better than my other optical equipment.
I like the tetgered objective lens caps and an added plus is having the older folding down/up rubber eyepiece cups which I prefer to the newer twist down-twist up rubber cups.
an excellent and durable optic.
Pros:
- compact, sturdy, good sharpness
Cons:
- hard to thread strap through slots in armor
Best Used for:
- stargazing and daytime terrestrial viewing

Extremely lightweight binoculars. Very well made. Not super powerful but glass is very bright and clear. Being 8x30s they don't gather as much light as the 7x50 but their light weight makes up for it. Optics Planet had the best price on the internet.

GREAT viewing during the day or low light with NO external light sources such as hunting.
SUPER HORRIBLE at night if there is more than one light source. Many many halos and the factory warranty folks say its been checked on the collimator and its normal? They did suggest angling the view....well what if their is lots of lights like say...in a city environment or several street lights with cards etc? MORE halos and they move.
So if your using them during the day. Check
Low light conditions on a hunting trip, Check
using them for surveillance ops or anywhere that has more than one light source in the field of view....NO WAY, do not buy.

I have these for several yrs now...and they can not be beat for the money. Once you learn the focus it works quite well with minor tweaking. I have never seen a pair of binocs that did not need tweaking!...it is what it is. These are quality, clear, tough and unless you are going into harms way or brutal conditions when serious abuse of equipment might take place, you can not beat these binoculars!

I shopped quite a while for binoculars. I compared several products and found that these were the best quality for a very reasonable price. I was not disappointed when they arrived and I started to use them. They simply exceeded my expectations.

I like these binoculars, the always in focus feature means they are always ready, lift to your eyes and see. Depth of focus makes it easy to detect movement in the whole field of view, not just what is in focus. I would buy again.
Pros: Depth of field, bright and clear. Great eye relief.
