I literally had this build in mind for a while, and as I iteratively improved my skills did the same with my desired end rifle. I erred in more than 1 place, but the single, most costly, unchangeable mistake I made was in purchasing CONQUEST V4 6-24x50 ZMOA-1.
I had always planned on my whatever longer range build I had planned, initially, had long since set aside a PST, as for my level of skill and budget, a Viper PST Gen II.
In all sincerity, IMO, the use case is irrelevant, though. This scope was literally the biggest mistake I have made in regards to investing since I got into the sport. I literally figured, German-engineered, Japanese-sourced glass, and, at the time, was ~ $400 less than the Vortex. Well, here, it is not. And even then, I wish I had the 900+ back towards the PST. Why everyone reviews the Zeiss as highly as they did/do, I cannot fathom.
After a year? My ONLY positive is the eyebox. which is better than any other scope I own, but not THAT much better to quadruple the cost. The elevation turret failed about 4 months ago. I had to completely disassemble and found that after about 400 rounds, a set screw had loosened, and well, from there, if you know zero stops, you know the rest. This is not the first zero stop I've set by a long shot; never had this happen. Yes, to your question, I used a torque.
