These SAFE-LAB Teflon resin stoppers be reliably removed from ground joint flasks containing ground joints with a minimum cracking temperature of 250°C (121°C). They will not react with acid, alkalies, or salts. The SAFE-LAB PTFE stoppers have slightly thicker walls than glass stoppers so that acids and alkalis can be added without worrying about etching or etch cracking. Glass stoppers must be removed with a stopper removal tool. Some Vit A glass stoppers have a "Teflon" ring at the mouth. Vit A glass stoppers inserted in Vit A glass are supplied with a "Teflon" ring at the neck. Vit A glass stoppers can be removed from Vit A, Teben, and Teben-S type glassware but not from all types of quartz glassware. Crystallin, TFE, and SLS glass are all carcinogenic and should not be handled with utensils or glassware of animal origin.
