Yes, the Choate Tool Mossberg Side Folder must be used with the Choate Tool minimum length fore end, which is included with the folder kit. The folders are made of 4140 steel and fiberglass filled plastic. They come with a 3/4″ recoil pad and sling loops.

The Side Folder for the Mossberg 500/600/590/835 shotgun is very sleek and fits the shotgun just like a folder should. But it has pistol grip notches. The wood is not only treated for durability but also for the weather. Once the shotgun is put away for the night or to go to the range this Stock will be. The shooting is very fast and does not take much to get a dependable shot. But this stock will also fold with the shotgun sitting on your bench. When the action is open the folding action takes a lateral turn of the forend to release the action. Choate makes this simple and easy. The forend has a screw that goes through the hinge pin. This hinge tightens against a stop pin on the forend. Stock will stay folded until you release it allowing the forend to slide back into position.image
